Welcome to the blog for the working group for equity and diversity. We hope that this blog will be used as a forum for raising questions and discussing issues related to the important areas of equity and diversity.
The theme of equity covers an enormous area, and I was thinking that maybe it would help us if we had a loose framework to guide us so that we have some idea about what we need to know and do.
Some of the things that I think are important for us to know include:
1. what kind of report we are going to produce?
2. who is the report going to be for?
3. what will the report need to contain in order to make an impact and hopefully lead to action?
4. what kind of inequities do we want to focus on? in which contexts? in which countries?
These are just some preliminary questions, and we invite you all to put your questions, thoughts and ideas on the blog too.
